Kaori & Jon's Wedding at Turf Valley in Ellicott City

We make a rule of always meeting our clients before we book them. When we say that we want to make sure our couple and us are a good fit, we mean it! So when we were contacted by Kaori and Jon, we couldn't exactly just meet up on a Saturday morning. Jon happens to be a Marine. He's been serving our nation in Japan for the past several years. That's actually where he met his lovely bride Kaori, but they wanted to come to back Maryland so that they could celebrate with Jon's family.

From the first e-mail, throughout our Skype meeting, and to when we finally met each other in person a few days before the wedding, we naturally clicked together. We were on the same wavelength and we found that our conversations only focused us even more on that same vision.

The two of them are so incredibly thoughtful and sweet, not to mention so clearly in love. Kaori hand folded paper cranes for each guest. Jon ran around for an entire week, making sure that Kaori's family saw DC and Baltimore, while making sure everything was progressing smoothly leading up to the wedding day.

The ceremony was held at Grace Episcopal Church in Elkridge. We had actually lived just up the street from there for several years, yet we had never had the pleasure of visiting. Fr. Travis and Elaine were beyond welcoming. We've worked with a lot of different clergy and church staff, and we can sincerely say that Fr. Travis and Elaine were some of the sweetest and kindest we've had the pleasure of working with. You have to take some time to take a look at the pictures of the church as well. It's absolutely gorgeous! We're suckers for good architecture.

The reception was held at Turf Valley. Now, if you're from the Columbia or Ellicott City area, you've probably been here at least a few times. Jaime was absolutely a joy to work with and Josh the DJ kept the party going until we were all kicked out.

While we generally take some time to mention all the amazing people we work with, we typically don't plug for anyone. Allow us to make an exception here. If you're looking for wedding planing services, you need to check out Nolo Weddings & Events. Lorinda and Nora are amazing, professional, and just generally awesome.

Last thing, and then you can go look at the pictures. Thank you so much to Jon and all of those that serve our country. Whatever your politics, beliefs, or ideologies, you have to be thankful and grateful to Jon and all those like him that put their lives on the line for all of us here at home.
